OK folks. This site gets many hits from Rik Emmett fans due to his association with the Akkerman.
However, that's not all he played. Like most professional players he has accumulated a large collection of guitars over the years and on occasion will lighten the load as his tastes and needs change and style evolves.
Some of the people that have visited this page now own some of Riks instruments and sent me photo's so I've added them here.

This is a really great guitar, and next to the Akkerman, was heavily used during his days fronting a popular rock trio.
There were 2 of these guitars made for him by Yamaha, but this is his number one. The number 2 is at the bottom of this page.
A really great custom guitar. Basically stock, but with a few custom features for Rik. Most notable is the wider neck which he seems to prefer. Really a great guitar. Wish it was mine!

This is a customer one of a kind Yamaha double neck. Rik was known for playing double necks to fill out his sound. This guitar has a wider neck and jumbo frets. Both a preference for Rik.
I haven't seen any concert photo's of him with this guitar, but it appears to have been used quite a lot as there are the telling nicks and scratches in all the appropriate places. Plus there are 3 additional holes where it looks like he tried to find a more comfortable place for the strap buttons.
Judging by the case he may have toured with it.

Well looks like Riks number 2 Yamaha has surfaced. Rik had 2 of these made form him. His number 1 is at the top of this page. The second was given to a friend and eventually sold. The new owner (Scott) found this page and here we are.
